From ushering at a performance to working with students through our education program, our 300-plus volunteers provide vital service to the Arts Center and bring the enrichment of the arts to our community.
The saying “many hands make light work” rings true every day at Luther Burbank Center for the Arts. The Center relies on support from hundreds of volunteers.
Center volunteers include ushers who seat patrons and attend to their needs at shows and events, serve food and beverages in the lobby, docents visiting schools on behalf of our education program, aids who help families to make arts and crafts together prior to shows, administrative volunteers who support Center operations and programs, and last but certainly not least, the Center’s volunteer board of directors who provide essential oversight and leadership.
We salute our 300-plus volunteers who provide tens-of-thousands of dollars in donated services annually.
Thank you! We couldn’t do it without you!

Your free time and special skills can make a tremendous difference in helping us to enrich, educate, and entertain our North Bay community. In return, we offer ticket vouchers to our many outstanding performances, an annual volunteer appreciation party, and a heartfelt thank you!
The Usher Program consists of friendly and energetic volunteers who assist at Center events by greeting patrons; checking and taking tickets; passing out programs and escorting patrons to their seats; answering patron questions and providing general assistance; and assisting patrons while exiting the theater after the performance. Our Ushers are expected to provide the utmost in service to our patrons to guarantee a great experience during their visit with us. Ushering requires standing for extended periods of time.
