Diversity Equity Inclusion

LBC is committed to being part of the solution to making the arts more diverse, equitable, and inclusive. We recognize the power of the Center to expand the perspectives, hearts, and minds of those in our community as well as to cultivate an environment of mutual respect, understanding, and appreciation for our community and our employees.

We recognize our opportunity and responsibility to prioritize and formalize taking a larger role and intentional actions on this journey by:

• Identifying & overcoming barriers to participation, access, and engagement

• Showcasing the value of diversity in the arts and making room at the table for various forms of cultural expression and perspectives

• Taking meaningful actions to welcome and center the voices that often need to be heard

• Furthering the community dialogue around equity, oppression, active inclusion, and privilege in everything we do

We recommit to fostering a platform and environment that celebrates diversity, cultural responsiveness, and not only makes room at the table, but welcomes each and every community member to connect and engage with us on a deeper, more meaningful level.
