at the sweet Annual Benefit
Today, Luther Burbank Center for the Arts (LBC) announced its annual benefit, The Art of Dessert on Saturday, April 7, 2018 in the Center’s Lytton Rancheria Grand Lobby (50 Mark West Springs Road in Santa Rosa). Now in its 15th year, The Art of Dessert, an evening of fine dining, features one-of-a-kind confections created by famed North Bay pastry artists. Desserts will be judged by a panel of local celebrities, and will double as artistic table centerpieces and the delectable final course. The Art of Dessert raises vital funds for the Luther Burbank Memorial Foundation, which allows the Center to engage Sonoma County residents in the power of the arts, from world class performances to nationally-recognized education programs that change the lives of 40,000 children annually. Since its inception, The Art of Dessert has raised $3.2 million and helped the Center provide the enrichment of arts to over 400,000 children.
A new element at the event this year are celebrity-hosted tables, where guests will experience the evening with engaging and dynamic celebrities who not only have knowledge and insight of the food scene, but also share enthusiasm for the arts and education programs at LBC. The Celebrity Hosts include Food Network star and local restauranteur Duskie Estes, Top Chef Master Douglas Keane, master chef and hospitality entrepreneur Charlie Palmer, “Chez Panisse Desserts” author and James Beard Award-winning pastry chef Lindsey Shere, popular Sonoma County executive chef and James Beard Award finalist Mark Stark of Stark Reality Restaurants, and acclaimed travel and food writer Matt Villano.
The elegant evening kicks-off at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail and hors d’ouevres reception featuring silent and wine auctions. At 7 p.m. guests will be treated to a lavish dinner provided by John Ash and Company, along with a live auction featuring exceptional items, including incredible local experiences and great travel packages, and much more. The evening culminates at 8:30 p.m. when guests indulge in the one-of-a-kind cakes adorning each table. Rodney Strong Vineyards is the generous wine sponsor for Art of Dessert.
Single tickets for the event are $250, with table purchases available for $1,875. Celebrity hosted tables are $6,000. For more information please click here, or email dev@lutherburbankcenter.org.
