Taiko, the art of Japanese drumming, is a simple yet powerful tool for community building. In this residency, while practicing basic taiko drumming and preparing for a mini-recital culmination, students learn how to express themselves creatively, respect and appreciate everyone’s unique contribution to a group, trust and support each other, and experience the joy of harmony. This dynamic residency is led by Meg Mizutani, educator and taiko instructor of Sonoma County Taiko.
