From Page to Stage

We all know how imperative it is for kids to start reading as early as possible, and year after year, LBC’s From Page to Stage Reading Initiative works with local schools to get them going. Our education experts work directly with underserved schools, as defined by Sonoma County in its Portrait of Sonoma report on disparities in education, to promote literacy and instill a lifelong love of reading early in students’ careers.

In its From Page to Stage program, LBC visits select, underserved 3rd grade classrooms throughout the school year, providing reading assistance and support materials. Students receive books and are encouraged to bring the activity of reading home with them. They then attend School Shows that bring the books to life, followed by a Q&A with the cast and a reception of milk and cookies.
