Unconscious bias occurs when we make spontaneous judgments about people or situations based on past experiences, culture, or environment. In this workshop, participants will explore aspects of their own identity through the lens of media and lived experience to consider how those aspects are depicted, whether positive or negative. This training will provide participants with critical insights that will inform their instruction as well as techniques to identify and address unconscious bias and micro-aggressions that may surface in an educational setting.
