School Shows & Classroom Connections

Our daytime performances for school groups make the magic of live performance available to students throughout the North Bay. School Shows highlight a wide-range of genres and cultural experiences, from traditional dance and drama to a variety of music—world, contemporary, and classical.

Our School Shows target grades PK through 12, and all of the performances align with and support state-mandated curriculum in all core subjects. LBC follows all California Department of Health requirements with regard to Covid-19. See schedules and supportive show resources in the tabs below.

Classroom Connections

We strive to provide school groups with quality performances at affordable prices, especially at this difficult time for our community. As part of our goal to keep our programs accessible, we offer Evert Person’s ArtReach, a free and reduced-priced ticket program.

Set the Stage offers free online resources, including study guides, classroom discussion points, and activities to prepare students for their in-person or virtual field trip with LBC.

From Page to Stage works directly with select schools with at-risk populations to promote literacy and instill a life-long love of reading early in students’ careers.

Extend and enrich your field trip to LBC with a self-guided tour of our outdoor Sculpture Garden!

Students can safely explore our outdoor Sculpture Garden the main exhibits as well as the landscape, bridges, and walkways. Its giant oak trees offer shady seating where classes can discuss their recent experience as consumers of the arts.

LBC opened the Sculpture Garden in 2015 as a gift to our North Bay community. With the support of Sutter Hospital and other generous donors, the Sculpture Garden presents rotating works from contemporary regional artists who create monumental outdoor art that becomes incorporated into the landscaped natural setting.

The LBC’s current exhibition for the outdoor Sculpture Garden, Thousand Ways: A Work in Progress is running now through September 2023. Our new exhibition will be open near the end of September 2023!

You can sign up for a self-guided tour right on your School Show application or email us.
