When the class gets lost on the way to the planetarium, Ms. Frizzle saves the day by blasting into outer space for an epic interplanetary field trip! But as rivalries both old and new threaten to tear the students apart, our young heroes must learn to pull together or risk getting forever lost in the solar system. Hop on the Magic School Bus for a ride in this new musical adaptation based on the famed original book series published by Scholastic.

Common Core Content Standards Easily Applied in Your Classroom


  • K.RL.2: With prompting and support, retell familiar stories, including key details.
  • 3.RL.9: Compare and contrast the themes, settings, and plots of stories written by the same author about the same or similar characters (e.g., in books from a series.
  • 4.RL.7: Make connections between the text of a story or drama and a visual or oral presentation of the text, identifying where each version reflects specific descriptions and directions in the text.

Lesson Plan Idea


Students research the planets in groups and list their characteristics, noting which are favorable or unfavorable to supporting human life.
