The LBC seeks to provide opportunities for lifelong learning through the arts. Master Classes provide students of all ages with unique opportunities to interact directly with professional, world-renowned master artists representing a variety of artistic mediums. As performers visit the LBC, we develop opportunities for an exchange of knowledge, inspiration, and hands-on learning experiences with selected students. By working closely with these artists, students are encouraged to investigate their own creative potential and develop a life-long appreciation of the arts.
Previous master classes have included renowned hip-hop artist Rennie Harris for a student dance class with Sonoma State University and Santa Rosa Junior College; Carlotta Santana for a Flamenco class with the Santa Rosa Recreation & Parks Department and the Santa Rosa Senior Center; The Birdhouse Factory’s renowned jugglers Steven Ragetz and Fritz Grobe providing a juggling clinic for Sonoma County youth; and Hawaiian music master George Kahumoku providing a free class for the public. We seek to make Master Class opportunities available to a wide range of participants, but please note that not all Master Classes are open to the public.
