And he’s coming to LBC on October 18 to explain it all to you! Recipient of the NASA Distinguished Public Service Medal, the highest award given by NASA to a non-government citizen, Tyson worked with professional standup comedians to bring science to commercial radio with the NSF-funded pilot program StarTalk, now a popular podcast, which combines celebrity guests with informative yet playful banter. He was voted “Sexiest Astrophysicist Alive” by People Magazine in 2000.
