Donor-Advised Funds & IRA Contributions
Donor-Advised Funds: A donor advised fund (DAF), which is like a charitable savings account, gives you the flexibility to recommend how much and how often money is granted to LBC and other qualified charities.
It can be an especially convenient option for donors who manage their charitable giving through a family foundation or sponsoring organization. You can recommend a grant or recurring grants now to make an immediate impact or use your fund as a tool for future charitable gifts.
Because donors may not receive more than incidental benefits from DAF grants, LBC will automatically waive any tangible benefits, such as Luther Bucks towards tickets, associated with these gifts.
Work with your professional advisors if you have questions about your DAF or how you might benefit from one. If you have any questions for our team, please contact us at 707.800.7531 or donate@lutherburbankcenter.org.
Stocks & Wire Transfers
Stock Transfers: Giving appreciated stocks or securities can be a tax-efficient way to support LBC while maximizing the value of your gift. In many cases, donors may avoid capital gains tax on the increase in value and may also be eligible for a charitable deduction based on the fair market value of the donated asset.
All gifts of publicly traded securities are valued at their market value on the date of the donation. Please contact us at donate@lutherburbankcenter.org or 707.800.7531 if you would like assistance completing your gift.
Wire Transfers: Wire transfers offer another straightforward way to make your gift. Please contact us at donate@lutherburbankcenter.org or 707.800.7531 for transfer instructions.
Employer Matching Gifts
Many employers match charitable contributions made by employees, and some also match gifts from retirees or spouses. A matching gift can double or even triple your support for LBC with just a little extra effort. Check with your Human Resources department to see whether your company offers a matching gift program.
Legacy Giving
A legacy gift is a meaningful way to support LBC’s future while making plans that reflect your personal values and long-term goals. By including LBC in your will or estate plans, you can help ensure that the Center continues to enrich community life for generations to come.
Legacy gifts can be made in many ways and with many types of assets, not just cash. We encourage you to work with your professional advisors and our staff to find the approach that best fits your intentions.
If helpful, LBC can share a list of financial advisors and estate planning professionals who are familiar with our organization. These individuals are not affiliated with LBC, and we do not receive any financial benefit from referrals. Work with your professional advisors if you have questions about including the LBC in your plans, and feel free to use sample language from below.
If you would like to explore a legacy gift with our team, we would be glad to talk with you. Learn more about Legacy Giving and our Society here or contact us at 707.800.7531 or donate@lutherburbankcenter.org.
