Why Give?

Donors make it all possible

Every donor dollar makes a difference at LBC. While many people know us for unforgettable performances on the main stage, that is only part of the story. Your support helps power a far broader mission—one that brings arts, education, creativity, and connection to people across our campus, throughout Sonoma County, and across the North Bay. As an independent nonprofit, LBC is sustained by people who believe in what this place makes possible. We are not powered by a university, a city, or another parent institution. We are for the people and funded by the people, and every gift helps keep that spirit alive.

Our reach extends far beyond the stage

On stage, your generosity helps bring world-class performers close to home while also making room for first-time arts experiences that can spark a lifelong love of live performance.

Across our campus spaces, your support animates a place where people gather for celebrations, cultural festivals, community experiences, visual arts encounters, and meaningful moments that make LBC feel like a shared home.

On our 26-acre campus, your gift helps sustain an inspiring environment where art is woven into the landscape through exhibitions, sculpture, gathering spaces, and experiences that invite discovery year-round.

Throughout Sonoma County and the North Bay, your support reaches beyond our walls through arts education programs, teaching artist residencies, free and low-cost community offerings, and opportunities that connect students, families, teachers, and neighbors to the power of the arts.

Whether your gift is modest or transformational, it helps strengthen a community-centered institution that belongs to all of us. Support the many ways LBC enriches life in our region with a donation of any size, and discover the many ways your generosity can make an impact.

Your donor dollars at work

Bringing unforgettable performances to the main stage

Your support helps bring an extraordinary range of artists to LBC each year—from music legends and rising stars to comedy, dance, theater, speakers, and more—creating memorable live experiences for nearly 200,000 audience members across the region.

Opening doors for students and educators

More than 20 arts education programs engage over 50,000 students and educators every year, helping young people experience creativity, confidence, and connection through in-school residencies, performances, camps, and hands-on learning.

Stewarding visual arts across campus

Your generosity helps care for and grow LBC’s visual arts program—from our permanent collection and sculpture garden to temporary exhibitions and installations that make art part of the everyday experience of being here.

Creating vibrant ways for community to gather

Free cultural celebrations, outdoor summer concerts, seasonal art experiences, and welcoming public events make LBC a place where people from across the North Bay can come together, feel connected, and make lasting memories.

Meet some of our Arts and Education Programs

LBC’s arts and education programs are both distinctive and deeply impactful. They introduce students and lifelong learners to music, theater, dance, and visual art while also partnering with educators to weave the arts into subjects like math, science, and literature. The result is learning that feels more engaging, memorable, and meaningful—helping spark creativity, strengthen understanding, and support academic success.

Gary and Rebecca Rosenberg School Shows

These live performances for school groups bring the wonder of the theater to students in ways that connect directly to classroom learning. Aligned with state curriculum standards and supported by specially designed study guides, School Shows help deepen understanding across core subjects while making learning come alive.

School Bus Fund

Transportation support helps remove one of the biggest barriers to participation by covering the cost of getting students to the theater. For many schools, a bus grant can make the difference between missing out and experiencing the arts firsthand.

Summer Camps

These free three-week camps offer underserved youth the chance to explore visual art, dance, drama, or Mariachi music. In a welcoming creative environment, students build skills, confidence, and self-expression while discovering the joy of making art.

Artists in the Schools

Teaching artists work directly in local classrooms through customized residencies that blend hands-on arts learning with core academic subjects. These in-depth experiences help strengthen comprehension, build confidence, and give students new ways to connect with what they are learning.

Afterschool Ensembles

Mariachi and Ballet Folklórico programs immerse students in music, movement, teamwork, and cultural tradition. Participants receive instruments, instruction, and performance opportunities as they build skills, confidence, discipline, and pride in this vibrant art form.

From Page to Stage Reading Initiative

This literacy program introduces underserved third-grade students to the joy of reading by connecting books with live performance. Free support materials and attendance at a related School Show help students deepen comprehension and see stories come vividly to life.

Instrument lending library

Through LBC’s 1,000+ instrument lending library, students can borrow instruments at no cost, opening the door to music-making for young people who might not otherwise have the opportunity. Priority is given to students who meet low-income guidelines.

Adult Guitar Class

This welcoming class offers adult learners the chance to build musical skills in a supportive, bilingual environment. Designed for those with little to moderate experience, it creates space for growth, creativity, and connection through music.

Sing-Along: A Walk Down Memory Lane

This sing-along program offers older adults and caregivers a joyful opportunity to connect through familiar songs, shared memories, and community. Created in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association, it supports well-being, engagement, and belonging through the power of music.

ArtReach

ArtReach provides free and reduced-price tickets to School Shows for students who meet low-income guidelines, along with access for their teachers. It helps ensure that cost is not a barrier to the transformative experience of live performance.

Teaching Teachers

These arts integration workshops equip teachers with practical ways to use the arts as powerful tools for teaching across the curriculum. Held in partnership with the Sonoma County Office of Education, they help educators bring more creativity, engagement, and connection into their classrooms.
