LBC welcomes Rekha Schipper to the Board of Directors
Rekha Schipper joins Luther Burbank Memorial Foundation Board of Directors
The Luther Burbank Memorial Foundation, the non-profit that owns and operates Luther Burbank Center for the Arts, announced the addition of a new member to the Board of Directors: Rekha Schipper. Ms. Schipper is President and CEO of Tangram Insurance Services based in Petaluma.
“On behalf of the Board of Directors for Luther Burbank Center for the Arts, I welcome Rekha Schipper, a successful and accomplished professional in her field,” said Paul Wilcock, Board Chair. “We are honored to have a dedicated group of North Bay leaders who choose to bring their passion and expertise to help LBC grow our mission.”
Ms. Schipper expressed her reasons for joining the LBC Board of Directors: “I attended LBC’s annual Art of Dessert fundraiser this year and was so moved by the musical performance of the Mariachi Ensemble. I picked up the flute at age 9 and it felt like magic—as the only Sri Lankan child in a predominately Caucasian community, music and theater gave me an entry point to feel like I belonged. I saw myself in those children performing at LBC and I know the Center’s arts programs are creating self-esteem that will live with those kids for a lifetime. It is my honor to help in any way needed.”
As President and CEO of Tangram Insurance Services, Rekha Schipper has the opportunity to build and manage corporate insurance programs all over the U.S. With nearly 20 years in the industry, she is passionate about the value of insurance to the greater economy and energized around the talented team of people she works beside every day.
