Luther Locals Live Expands Its Reach

Summer nights at LBC have never sounded better! Now in its third year, Luther Locals Live has blossomed from a modest plaza gathering into a robust weekly series that drew larger and larger crowds over the summer, giving it almost a festival vibe. With free concerts that invite families, friends, and neighbors to kick back, dance, and celebrate local talent, the series has become a joyful reminder of how music brings people together—and how quickly a small idea can grow into a can’t-miss community event.
After adding a shade structure last year to keep audiences cool, this year’s move to the Pavilion Tent created an even bigger impact. The spacious 60’ x 120’ tent, paired with fresh surrounding lawn areas perfect for blankets, games, and dancing, made the concerts more welcoming and comfortable than ever. The result: attendance soared, with average audiences more than tripling compared to last year’s shows.
This shift not only gave more people access to free live music but also offered local artists the chance to share their talent with larger, more enthusiastic crowds. From food trucks to family activities, the series has become a highlight of the season—proof of how small program changes can create meaningful community-wide benefits.
Special thanks to Kaiser Permanente for its generous sponsorship of the Luther Locals Live free, outdoor summer concert series.
