Master classes and student clinics offer Sonoma students rare chance to study with the pros

Back to school means time to announce our series of master classes and student clinics – all part of the Education and Community Engagement programs here at LBC!

How classes and clinics work

LBC offers a number of master classes and student clinics to Sonoma County students when the artists who provide them are in town for a main stage performance. However, because LBC adds artists to its performance lineup throughout the year, we don’t always know at the beginning of the season all of the clinics and classes that will be available. That’s when we invite you to enjoy a little of the serendipity that is a part of everyday life here in the world of live performance. While these offerings vary, depending on the artist and genre, the arts enrichment remains the same: improved skills, expanded boundaries, renewed love of the genre, and inspiration and motivation from professional touring artists.

Thanks to donors like Rodney Strong Wine Estates, currently, we can announce three artists are offering master classes/ student clinics while they are in town to perform on the LBC stage as part of the Rodney Strong Dance Series 2022-23. Versa-Style Dance Company, here on November 11, will hold a master class for college level and high school students with some proficiency. Calidanza Dance Company, performing its annual Posada Navideña on December 9, will offer a student clinic, a shorter, less intense program for participants with little or no previous experience. Les Ballet Trockadero de Monte Carlo, performing on January 17, 2023, will offer outreach to our students.

Soweto Gospel Choir, performing its Hope- It’s Been a Long Time Coming concert on November 4, 2022, will also offer outreach activities to our students. Stay tuned for more details about these and other arts education opportunities at LBC on social media – @lbcsoco and @lutherburbankcenter – and on, where you also can become a member to get early alerts on these and other exciting enrichment programs.
