Donations matched to brighten the lives of deserving local schoolchildren – and their futures!
Always aiming to increase access to the arts for more schoolchildren, this fall LBC launched a free, afterschool ballet folklórico dance program to inspire and empower more children through arts. We hope you will consider a donation to support this new program—a donation that will be matched!
Based on the successful model of our Mariachi Program, LBC’s Ballet Folklórico Program now welcomes 26 students from grades 5-12. A few years ago, the Mariachi Program launched with similar numbers and has grown to more than 140 students today. Those mariachi students have traveled throughout the community and beyond to share their excellence, and the program is seeing graduates move on to college careers. Now, with the culturally rich artform of ballet folklórico, we can further expand access to arts education for Sonoma County’s students.
Research supports the crucial role of the arts for youth development, correlating with everything from higher test scores to graduation rates. To keep the arts alive for our youth, this new program needs your support. And now is the time when your support can mean the most. Thanks to the Pecoraro Family Fund, your donation will be matched dollar for dollar, which means you can double the impact of your donation, empowering life-changing arts access for the youth of our community. Help us make the most of this beautiful opportunity for our students.
