LUTHER LOCALS LIVE: A FREE, NEW WAY TO CONNECT WITH ART AND COMMUNITY AT LBC

This summer, LBC is trying something new for the community, and folks seem eagerly all in!

Last month, we unveiled a chill new way for locals and visitors to enjoy live performance here at Sonoma County’s home for the arts with Luther Locals Live, a series of 10 free outdoor concerts. The seasonal program was developed as another way to support local bands while providing the community with a special gathering place to socialize, relax, savor popular food truck fare, and enjoy live music.

“We’re delighted that attendance has been robust right from the start, and we continue to adjust seating and dance space to accommodate the enthusiasm,” said Sari Larson, Associate Director of Programs & Rentals. “It’s a safe place for kids to kick about and a fun way for adults to spend a Tuesday afternoon enjoying their favorite local bands or discovering new ones.”

The concerts take place every Tuesday evening from 5:30 to 7:30 pm on the Nelson Family Grand Plaza, a spacious patio surrounded by green grasses with bistro tables and folding chairs set about. Various food trucks are there to satisfy dinnertime appetites, and patrons also enjoy beer and wine from the bar and artisan market vendors.

The John Courage Trio and Schlee opened the series on June 6, followed by Burnside on the 13th, Michelle Lambert on the 20th, and The Musers last Tuesday.  Upcoming performances include:

  • July 11 – Johnny Young
  • July 18 – Jacob Philip Benning
  • July 25 – King Street Giants
  • August 1 – Ellie James
  • August 8 – Tru Lyric
  • August 15 – Sebastian Saint James & The Muscle Souls

No performance on July 4.
