Santa Rosa, Calif – March 13, 2024 – Luther Burbank Center for the Arts proudly presents a groundbreaking collaboration between Gina Chavez and Flor De Toloache, promising an extraordinary night of music and unity on Thursday, April 11, 2024. Two innovative forces in the Latin American music scene, Chavez and the all-female mariachi group Flor De Toloache are renowned a revolutionary performance that transcends genres and celebrates the power of collaboration.

This initiative reflects the Center’s commitment to providing diverse cultural experiences that resonate with the community, in this case, the diverse cultures and musical backgrounds of four female game changers in the music industry who bring an edgy, versatile, and fresh perspective to traditional mariachi and Latin American music. Gina Chavez, a queer, bilingual, and genre-bending musician, has garnered widespread acclaim for her independent spirit and innovative sound. She is a 2020 Latin Grammy® nominee for “Best Pop/Rock Album,” 12-time Austin Music Award winner, including 2019 Best Female Vocals and 2015 Austin Musician of the Year.

Flor De Toloache, an all-female mariachi group, brings a feminist charge to their music that complements Chavez’s innovative style. With five studio albums under their belt, Flor De Toloache are celebrated for their distinctive take on mariachi. Their latest album, Motherflower, serves as a testament to their shared commitment to pushing boundaries and breaking new ground in traditional Latin American music. The group has graced international stages from Mexico to Japan and has extensively toured the USA, Europe and Latin America.
