That is, he tries to be scary, but he isn’t. He meets Sam, the most scaredy-cat kid in the whole world. The plot thickens when Leonardo and Sam meet Kerry—an even scaredier-cat—and her monster friend, Frankenthaler.  Manual Cinema gets you up close to these curious meetups to learn if Leonardo will finally scare someone, if Kerry and Sam remain scaredy cats, or if their differences end up shaping unlikely friendships.

King Street Giants – Donor Appreciation Party

Since 2012, The King Street Giants have brought their own special version of New Orleans music to the Bay Area and beyond. Whether they’re playing in clubs or on the streets, The King Street Giants are renowned for radiating an infectious energy and always having a blast. While continuing to play the music of their heroes, they have also been writing original music to continue to evolve the idiom of Traditional New Orleans Jazz. Winners of the North Bay Bohemian’s “Best Band in Sonoma County” award in 2017, as well as Best Jazz Band in 2022 and 2014, The King Street Giants released their third studio album, Everything Must Go, in August 2020.

Luther Locals Live with Paul Steward

A 2023 Yerba Buena Center for the Arts 100 honoree and Pomo tribal member of Elem Indian Colony, vocalist and guitarist Paul Steward is a pop blues artist from Santa Rosa. His album, World Champion, features his own newly written songs and remakes of classics in the styles of R&B, rock, blues, soul, Americana, and pop. Currently on an intermittent world tour, Paul has performed all over the USA and has played Japan, Scotland, England, Switzerland, and Italy. He's also known as the frontman of the band Twice as Good with his father Richard, famous for tunes like "Clarksdale," "Shake Your Hips," "Everything's Gonna Be All Right," and "Come and Get Your Love.”

Sabiee (pronounced sah-bee-yay) (she/her) began writing songs as a teenager on acoustic guitar. She expanded her style and sound to include layered ethereal vocals & intimate lyrics to create an authentic sound with old world vibes. Her name is an acronym for Shining, Awesome, Brilliant, Intelligent, Ever-evolving.

Like hotcakes themselves, the music of Spike Sikes & His Awesome Hotcakes goes by many names – soul, swing, R&B, jazz, and jump. It’s a sound that’s classic and simple, but when it’s done right, it hits the spot and has you grinning from ear to ear. From the Texas blues joints to the funky halls of New Orleans, he was always studying the music, trying to find just the right recipe. It makes perfect sense that he found his bandmates in Sonoma County, a music scene that has fostered many eclectic artists for decades.
